I believe I am one of these empowered workers, where I am taking full responsibility of my job security. Happy to share my experience: I recently joined (partnered ?) with a company where I will have a "job" as long as I am able to provide value to the organization and their clients. This approach, while having the concept of job insecurity associated with it, helps me stay at the top of my game and motivates me to learn to continue being of value to the folks who trust me. The compensation model is small salary + higher percentage over gross profit of the work where I add value. My job is a senior level position in the communications/marketing arena in the healthcare field.
